Nylon slings verses Dyneema These are the best of both worlds 12mm tubular nylon with a dyeema core. Normally a nylon sling needs to 18mm or wider to achieve the required 22kN rating, making them heavy and bulky. However by using a Dyneema core these slings achieve the rating in only 12mm, putting them in the same weight/bulk category as lighter Dyneema slings, but with the higher melting point and better shock absorbsion offered by nylon.
