Self-locking hooks have a locking mechanism that is much more durable than the standard stamped latches. Applying a load to the hook automatically closes and locks the hook. The load must be fully grounded before the lock can be released. The swivel allows this hook to line up without twisting or binding the chain but cannot be swiveled while under load.
