A wide variety of fish species can be caught using nymphs and wet flies including trout, bass, crappie, sunfish, bluegill, carp, and more. They can be fished on their own, or in combination with a dry fly pattern. One effective technique is tying the nymph or wet fly below a dry fly with 12-24 inches of tippet in between them.
